Third Junior Clerk

Interim role for a fixed term of up to 1 year

An opportunity has arisen to join our friendly support team of six clerks on a fixed term contract.  This role will report to the Second Junior Clerk and provide support and assistance to the more senior clerks.

Specific Duties:

  • To check the Clerks’ generic Inbox and respond promptly to enquiries or pass on emails as necessary
  • To provide general assistance and support to the four more senior clerks
  • To ensure that documents delivered to chambers are dealt with promptly, appropriately and efficiently
  • Arrange/prepare collection and delivery of the post and/or document exchange (DX)
  • Cover the work of the more junior clerk in periods of absence and give support
  • To organize couriers
  • To assist members generally in the course of their practice

Candidate skills required:

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work unsupervised and under pressure
  • A willingness to take instruction and ability to learn quickly
  • A good memory and attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm, with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Polite, friendly and have a smart appearance
  • Educated to a minimum of 2 A levels
