Rebecca Handcock instructed in Infected Blood Public Inquiry

Rebecca Handcock is currently seconded to TLT LLP. The firm is instructed by the Department of Health in the Infected Blood Public Inquiry.

Rebecca’s role is to assist in drafting witness statements for witnesses connected with the Department of Health. Witnesses include former government ministers and civil servants.

About the Infected Blood Public Inquiry

This independent public statutory inquiry is examining why men, women and children treated by national Health Services in the UK were given infected blood and infected blood products.

The public inquiry will consider:

  • the impact on their families
  • how the authorities (including government) responded
  • the nature of any support provided following infection
  • questions of consent
  • whether there was a cover-up.

Rebecca has extensive public inquiry experience. She is also junior counsel to the Home Office in the Brook House Inquiry (into allegations of mistreatment at an immigration removal centre).
