Keith Chipato acted for the successful tenant, who issued a disrepair counterclaim against their landlord in County Court possession proceedings. The judge ruled in favour of the defendant’s application to strike out the claim for possession. The claimant was also ordered to carry out repair works on the property.

Clare Cullen acted for Trivallis Limited, one of the largest housing associations in Wales, in 2 housing disrepair cases about using experts. In a judgment handed down on 3 July, the County Court in Cardiff refused the claimant tenants permission to rely on their proposed experts.
