Webinar: Overview of the EU Settlement Scheme (aimed at lawyers)

28 January 2021

Eleanor Sibley, together with the AIRE Centre and Centrepoint, will deliver a free training webinar for lawyers on EU Settlement Scheme applications.

What will it cover?

Many vulnerable EEA citizens and their family members risk being in the UK unlawfully after Brexit because they do not realise they need to make an EU settlement scheme application and no-one is supporting them to do so.

As well as providing an overview of the EU Settlement scheme, and helping you to identify the people who need to apply, this session will outline local authorities’ duties to support young people and vulnerable adults to apply, and provide an update following recent changes to the immigration rules.

Topics covered will include:

  • What is the EU Settlement Scheme?
  • Why is it important?
  • Who needs to apply, and by when?
  • How can you help?
  • Who can you refer people to for support?

There will be a 60 minute presentation followed by a 15 minute Q&A.

Who is it for?

Local authority lawyers, and any other lawyers who work with young people or vulnerable adults who need to make an EU settlement scheme application.

How do I register?

You can sign up to the event on Eventbrite.

The training will be held on Zoom (log in details will be provided to everyone who registers, subject to a 100 person limit).
