During the non-practising period of his pupillage, Benedict focused on property, housing, homelessness, trusts and family law.

Before coming to the bar, Benedict worked as a legal assistant for a local authority. He regularly conducted advocacy in possession proceedings in the County Court and also in Magistrates’ Court prosecutions under the Licensing Act 2003, Education Act 1996 and Environmental Protection Act 1990.

Between 2022-2023, Benedict worked as a paralegal in the international arbitration practice of a major US law firm in Paris.

Alongside his studies, Benedict volunteered with the Communities Empowerment Network, representing permanently excluded pupils in Governors’ Disciplinary Committees and Independent Review Panel (IRP) hearings. At IRP he secured the quashing of a permanent exclusion in a case involving complex special educational needs and disability discrimination arguments under the Equality Act 2010.

Benedict accepts instructions in all of chambers’ practice areas.

  • ‘He did an outstanding job on a matter where the prospects of success were, on the facts of the case, highly unlikely. Despite this, Benedict approached the case with excellent preparation, sound judgement, and clear advocacy…His handling of the matter was particularly impressive given the evidential challenges involved, and it reflects a high level of skill and professionalism at this stage of his career.’ Solicitor for applicant in ex-parte non molestation order, March 2026
