Madeleine Southey joined Chambers as a tenant in September 2024 after successfully completing pupillage.
Madeleine has a mixed practice in civil, employment, property, housing, family and public law.

Prior to coming to the bar, Madeleine worked in Visa Compliance for a leading UK University and provided legal advice on aspects of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities law to parents of children with SEND, including application for, challenge and variation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Madeleine read Law at Trinity College, University of Cambridge, and achieved a distinction in the BPC LLM from the University of Law in 2022, undertaking modules in medical law and ethics, and compliance and regulation.
