Rebecca represented a child through her guardian in lengthy and acrimonious private law proceedings. Rebecca successfully obtained an order for child arrangements that reflected all her client (the guardian’s) recommendations. She also obtained a family assistance order despite the local authority’s opposition.
Francis Hoar represented the local authority in its successful application for an interim injunction against persons unknown. The injunction seeks to prevent dangerous ‘car cruising’ or ‘meets’ within its borough and has a power of arrest attached to it.
Max Lansman acted for the personal representatives of an ex-employee of M&S who was dismissed following her cancer diagnosis. The tribunal extended time for the claim to be brought, found she had been discriminated against on the basis of her disability and concluded that reasonable adjustments by the employer would have alleviated the disadvantage.
Barry McAlinden acted for a mother via public access in private law children proceedings concerning her 3 children. The court made section 91 [14] orders where there had been no prior proceedings.

Ryan Anderson defended a company against claims of direct race discrimination, harassment, and unfair dismissal. One minor aspect of the harassment claim succeeded based on a factual concession. However the remaining 45 allegations of the discrimination claim were dismissed.
John McLinden KC and John Critchley, assisted by first-six pupil Andrew Burrell, successfully persuaded the High Court to withdraw the intervention against their client and his firm in Santers Solicitors Limited & Anr v Law Society & The SRA [2024]. The judgment is a rare example of a solicitor overturning an intervention in their practice by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Nikolas Clarke acted for the local authority in an inquest into the death of AG -a 93-year-old woman with an Alzheimer’s diagnosis. AG died following an altercation with another resident at the local authority-run care home where she lived. The coroner concluded that while the traumatic injuries contributed, they were not solely responsible for AG’s death.
