The COVID-19 emergency and lockdown has affected us all. It has led to extreme measures from Government relating to landlords and tenants, most notably the stay on possession proceedings. But the obligations owed (by both landlords and tenants) relating to the state of repair in the property remain.
In this webinar, Jonathan Pennington Legh, Mark Baumohl and Clare Cullen of the Field Court Housing Team review those obligations and consider the impact that lockdown has had on them. They will focus particularly on:
- Disrepair law
- the new Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018 and
- prosecutions under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
