We are delighted to announce that Francis Hoar has been shortlisted for Barrister of the Year at the prestigious Lawyer Awards. Now in its 22nd year, The Lawyer Awards celebrates excellence across private practice, the public sector, commerce and industry, and the Bar.
Francis is the only junior shortlisted alongside 7 QC's. This achievement follows on from Francis being recognised as The Times Lawyer of the Week.
In 2015 Francis, appearing against two Queen’s Counsel and following the longest election petition trial for a century, secured a High Court judgment that voided the election of Lutfur Rahman as Mayor of Tower Hamlets and found him and his election agent guilty of corrupt and illegal practices. Francis regularly appears in election petitions and in related proceedings, including political reputation management, and has a considerable advisory practice. He is currently advising one of the leading campaigners in the EU referendum.
