Family Law Week has shortlisted Joanna Thom for ‘Family Law Rising Star of the Year’. The award recognises barristers who have fewer than 4 years in practice who have already made outstanding contributions to private children law.
About Joanna Thom
Although only called in 2021, Joanna has already been led 3 times, including twice in the High Court. Each time she has appeared with a senior junior against silks with juniors and secured favourable results for her client.
In May 2025 in the pro bono case of Re A (Appeal: Findings of fact) [2025] EWHC 1279 (Fam) Joanna and her co-counsel were praised by Mr Justice Hayden:
