Christopher Stirling in Kremen v Agrest ‘chronic and complex piece of matrimonial litigation’

26 January 2012

"This should, but probably will not be the final chapter of a chronic and complex piece of matrimonial litigation...” So said Mostyn J in his opening statement in the final judgement handed down on the 19th January 2012 in the High Court.

Christopher Stirling represented the former wife of a Russian oligarch in Kremen v Agrest (No.11) [2012] EWHC 45 (Fam). The acrimonious divorce case involved an application by the wife for financial orders under Part III of the Matrimonial and Family Proceedings Act 1984, dealing with issues of non-disclosure by the husband, the treatment to be given to a post nuptial agreement and an application by a third party for a charging order absolute against the husband.
