Our 2025 Pro Bono Framework report

Advocate has published a report of our Chambers Pro Bono Framework activities during 2025. The report shows 29% of our barristers took on pro bono work in 2025, a higher percentage than last year.

We received instructions from a range of not for profits: Not Beyond RedemptionPro Bono Connect, the Work Rights Centre and others.

One of the most high profile pro bono cases of the year involved Joanna Thom and Harrison Engler representing the father in his successful High Court appeal against a 3-year-old rape finding made in the Family Court in Children Act 1989 proceedings: Re A (Appeal: Findings of Fact) [2025] EWHC 1279 (Fam) [2025] 4 WLR 72
