Pro Bono Connect awards us Engagement Recognition Award

06 January 2026

Pro Bono Connect has given us a bronze engagement recognition award celebrating our barristers' commitment to the Pro Bono Connect scheme and its clients during 2025.

Of the 11 winners in the inaugural awards, 3 were barristers' chambers and 8 were solicitors' firms.

About Pro Bono Connect's Engagement Recognition Awards

Pro Bono Connect introduced the awards to reward its most engaged members and to encourage firms and chambers to support the scheme by taking on more cases.

Examples of our Pro Bono Connect cases

During 2025, Madeleine Southey acted in 3 Pro Bono Connect cases. These included:

  • a sex discrimination and sexual harassment case which resulted in her client receiving an award of more than £54,000 in compensation
  • representing the applicant in a transfer of tenancy where the joint tenant/ex-husband had disappeared
  • acting in an employment tribunal claim where the employee had been dismissal after she notified her employer she was pregnant.
