Supporting the 20th anniversary London Legal Walk 2024

28 May 2024

A team of our barristers including our 2 pupil barristers are set to take part in the 10km London Legal Walk on Tuesday 18 June. Together with more than 15,000 others, we will walk to raise funds for free legal services across London and the South East.

The money raised goes to charities that provide legal advice and representation to people in need.

One of our barristers, Sarah McKeown is a trustee of the London Legal Support Trust which organises the event.

There is little public funding available for many of the problems which have a significant impact on people's lives. The London Legal Support Trust helps a range of people including:

• elderly people in need of support to stay living independently
• homeless people and families living in unacceptable housing conditions
• people living with disabilities or illnesses and their carers
• people facing unfair dismissal or discrimination in the workplace.

Access to justice means that people should be able to equally access legal support, advice, and representation irrespective of their financial position.
