Our mini-pupillage programme is currently open for applications. We hope by offering these opportunities to widen the pool of people who gain an insight into the working life of a barrister. The deadline for applications is 11.59pm on Monday 30 June.
Six of our barristers are named in the 2025 Pro Bono Recognition list of England and Wales, published today. John McLinden KC, Keith Chipato, Max Lansman, Ryan Anderson, Rebecca Davies, and Harrison Engler appear on the list.
Ryan Anderson defended a company against claims of direct race discrimination, harassment, and unfair dismissal. One minor aspect of the harassment claim succeeded based on a factual concession. However the remaining 45 allegations of the discrimination claim were dismissed.
We welcome applications from barristers with expertise in our core practice areas: Business, Employment, Family, Housing, Property, Public law & Court of Protection. Almost 50% of our members have at least 1 ranking in either Chambers and Partners or Legal 500, or in both. We are ranked as a set for our housing, children law and for our Court of Protection and community care practices.
Max Lansman specialises in employment, housing, local government, Court of Protection and child protection law. He also maintains a mixed civil law practice. In celebration of Pro Bono Week, he discusses one of his pro bono cases from the past year.
Harrison Engler joined us as a tenant in September 2024 after successfully completing pupillage. He has a mixed practice in civil, family, housing, employment and public law. In celebration of Pro Bono Week, he discusses one of his pro bono cases from the past year.
