International Women’s Day: Using the law to protect women’s rights & where the law can go further

09 March 2022

To mark International Women’s Day 2022, Sarah McKeownNikolas Clarke and Eleanor Sibley discussed a case study raising gendered issues from an employment, public and housing law perspective with an audience of students, solicitors and barristers at Queen Mary School of Law, University of London.

A range of attendees also joined the session online.

Natalie York chaired the event.

The barristers highlighted potential claims  and non-legal action that the person featured in the case study could consider.

Head of Chambers John Critchley said "It was a brilliant occasion which shone a bright light on unlawful discrimination and structural unfairness on an important day for women in particular and equality in general.”
